Thanks for following along with XanFree this year as we continue to try to spread awareness and help those who may be struggling right now. The past few weeks we have gone through plenty of information that may have helped you, but this week we are covering our favorite topic: Nutrition! Today we will look at 3 new ingredients- Lemon Balm Extract, Gaba, and Bacopa Extract.
Lemon Balm Extract

Lemon Balm Extract is a lemon-scented herb that comes from the same family as mint. The herb can be found around the world but is native to Europe, North Africa, and West Asia. This ingredient is believed to improve mood and cognitive function as well as reduce stress and anxiety
Lemon balm is a herbaceous perennial that belongs to bushy plants. It belongs to the family of mint plants, and it is relatively easy to grow. They reach an approximately two-feet height and three-feet length.
Leaves are the edible part of the plant, and they can be used for herbal and medicinal purposes. You will often find lemon balm added to dishes as a spice. Lemon balm leaf extract is a part of various supplement formulas. That especially applies to products that clam the nerves down and provide a soothing effect.

GABA

GABA is short for Gamma-aminobutyric acid and it is a neurotransmitter or chemical messenger in the brain. It blocks specific signals in the central nervous system, slowing down the brain. This provides a protective and calming effect on the brain and body.
The human body produces GABA on its own, but you can also find it in a variety of health supplements.
You can't find GABA in food sources, which means that the diet doesn't affect the production of this aminobutyric acid. However, some foods are capable of affecting GABA production in the human body. These foods include veggies, fruits, red wine, and teas.
GABA comes with a wide range of potential benefits, including being helpful in lowering anxiety and depression symptoms as well as boosting cognitive performance. Research explains that it stands on the opposite part of the scale to glutamate. Since glutamate is a neurotransmitter that’s considered excitatory, GABA helps to regulate relaxation and activation times.

Bacopa Extract

Bacopa Extract is a traditional herb used for centuries in Ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India. It may help preserve memory and enhance cognitive function.
The herb doesn’t have a distinctive smell and usually the flowers have up to five petals. The leaves are about 1/5-inch thick and often used with herbal supplements.
Bacopa grows throughout the world, but it might be most popular in India. That is because Bacopa has been used for various applications in Ayurvedic medicine.
